Kaz Hirai: The PlayStation Network will remain free

All eyes were turned to Sony in the Media Investor Conference held recently. In this conference, Sony announced its plan to increase profits in 2010. Customers are full of questions posed, following an announcement rather ... amazing. In fact, Sony had stated that there will surely offers subscriptions to the Playstation Network.

Following this, gamers were full of questions raised about these so-called offers, and they were rather negative. Kaz Hirai, president of Sony Computer Entertainment, then replied "SCEE will increase sales by offering users new entertainment through a combination of hardware, software, peripherals and PlayStation Network. He added "This will be particularly in line, we study the possibility to introduce a subscription model offering premium content and services, in addition to current services free. Clearly, good news, the Playstation Network will remain free, and you can continue to play your games online for free!
