Zing Burg, author of the famous RCO Edit any creative theme unofficial uses for all file changes RCO we RCOmage present a program on the command line coupled with a little GUI to simplify our task. The author also hopes that its new program will replace RCO Edit.
Shortly after the arrival of the 5.50 GEN, we have seen happen a few animated themes that had just been created through this tool. (See Spiderman Animated and Invader ZIM of Vegetano1 among others.)
Before explaining what the program does, start with a little theory. As you may know, the RCO files are primarily intended to consolidate resources, ie images, sounds, text, etc.. While the PRX files contain the code instead.
RCOmage aims to extract a file RCO to separate structure, which will be presented as an XML file, and resources that will be extracted in different folders according to their nature. The interest is to work directly on these files and then recompile everything as RCO. You can add in the XML animations that will display several successive PNG.
Note that this program is primarily for designers and not really subject to ordinary because it takes a good foundation in graphic design and especially the technique to edit the PRX remains the most complicated step in the creation of a theme.
