Digital Sales up 200% on PSN

The arrival of the PSP go to the western market on 1 October pushed the number download on PSN a meaningful way.

 A spokesperson for SCEA said:

 The launch of the PSP go has generated an increase in consumer interest in all models of PSP in general, and on digital content available on the Playstation Network.

 Three days after the launch of the PSP go, our partners in retail have experienced an increase in sales of 300% on the PSP hardware compared to the previous week.

For the launch of the PSP go, Sony has offered more than 100 complete downloads for the PSP on the PlayStation Network. The company said it has undergone a massive increase in digital sales over the last week in North America, and expects that momentum to continue.

 "The launch of the PSP go has generated a significant increase in revenue for PSN over 200% of downloads of PSP games on the PlayStation Store. With the launch of several large franchises in digital format UMD in the coming weeks, we expect this trend continues and, foremost, a strong holiday season for both the PSP go for the PSP-3000. "

 In the process, Sony has announced a partnership with online retailer Amazon, for distribution of digital content available on PSN for the PS3 and PSP.
